A Blockbuster
Investment Event

This year’s New Orleans Conference was a whirlwind of insights, picks and predictions from dozens of top experts.
It was as entertaining as it was enlightening, and you’ll soon have access to it all.
| |
Whew! We got it done — despite tremendous odds against us.
|
I opened this year’s New Orleans Investment Conference, which was held from last Tuesday through Friday, noting the old saying down here in the South that we’ll get it done “come Hell or high water.”
|
This year, I noted, we had both Hell and high water...the former in the form of the Delta variant and the latter in the form of Hurricane Ida.
|
But everyone — from our staff at Jefferson Financial to our speakers, exhibitors and, most importantly, our determined attendees — persevered. And together we produced and experienced an event that will go down in history.
As you’ll remember, I predicted as much beforehand. After living through last year’s event, I’m even more confident in that prediction now. In fact, one of our keynote speakers, Lawrence Lepard, declared that New Orleans 2021 was “Absolutely, best conference I have ever attended.”
In the days and weeks ahead, I’m going to share snippets of the macro and market intelligence that was shared by our speakers. And if you weren’t able to attend either in person or virtually, you’ll get a chance to order video recordings of the entire event.
In the meantime, some quick impressions....
|
• Dave Collum was a hit. Nothing surprising here; I fully expected it, given his running Twitter commentary on world events. But both behind the stage and on it, Dave’s wit and wisdom reigned supreme, aweing everyone with his informed observations on virtually every subject you could imagine.
From Day One to very nearly the end of the event, Dave held court on speaker tables in the exhibit hall as well as the speaker Green Room. His presentation will be remembered for many reasons, including his use of a phrase that, safe to say, had never been spoken on our stage in all our decades of existence.
Just wait until you get to watch it.
• Jim Iuorio was another big winner for our audience. Personally, it was a huge pleasure to finally meet many experts that I’ve only talked or corresponded to online during this pandemic, and Jim certainly lived up to expectations.
Jim’s personality hits you like a thunderclap right away, and his views are often controversial, if always well thought-out. Again, nothing surprising given his public commentary. But one benefit I didn’t expect was the practicality of his advice — how to meld your trading and investing with a macro picture on which most of us agree.
• George Gammon. What’s there to say? With all the legends that have graced our stage, you would have thought that standing ovations are common.
Well, I’m here to tell you they’re not. Margaret Thatcher, yes. Charlton Heston, for sure. But add George Gammon to that lofty list of speakers who brought the crowd to their feet.
Combining not just an analysis of the macro picture and the repercussions of the Fed’s unprecedented monetary policies, George’s presentation was also a stirring call to defend liberty and free speech. It was the equal of anything I’ve ever seen at our event, and I can’t wait to share it with you.
• Lawrence Lepard. Similar to George Gammon’s offering, Larry’s speech was a moving tribute to personal liberty, and a warning of the dangers of unsound money to our freedom. I have to say that I’ve rarely, if ever, seen the argument for sound money presented so succinctly and eloquently. It’s already been a huge hit as it’s made the rounds in written form, and it will be the first of our video recordings to be released.
• James Grant. While I’m on the subject of eloquence, I can’t overlook the master himself. Long a favorite of our audiences, it was quite the sight to see Jim also command the attention of our distinguished speakers in the Green Room.
Simply put, no one can expose the absurdity of our times as well as Jim can...and as he did in his presentation. Again, I’ll share details with you in the days ahead.

The Best Experts
— In One Place At The Perfect Time
|
Time constraints prevent me from going into more detail just now, but let me just note that Danielle DiMartino Booth wowed the audience, and fellow speakers with her bold insights into the Fed...Dr. Ron Paul delivered a stem-winder of a closing speech that also garnered a standing ovation...
...Brent Johnson had our audience furiously taking notes, and many agreeing with his prediction of a stronger dollar...Grant Williams had us spellbound with his articulate explanation of how the Fed has themselves — and us — trapped...
...Peter Boockvar dazzled us with data showing, conclusively, that inflation is anything but transitory...Jim Rickards exposed the powers-that-be directing both monetary and health policy today...and The Real Estate Guys (Robert Helms and Russ Gray) showed, in detail, a powerful strategy allowing you to use gold to build equity in real estate.
|
Wow. If I seem breathless in my admiration for our speakers and what they presented to our audience, well...I am.
|
Considering the timing, as the Fed prepares to announce its plans for reversing its extraordinarily easy monetary policy — and before the world realizes that the central bank is powerless to do so — this may have been the most valuable and important gathering in our 47 years of history.
Once again, I’ll have more details soon, as we’re still busily compiling days of video recordings.
So stay tuned....
