I recently participated in a rollicking debate on whether gold or Bitcoin represented the future of money.

You know what side I chose…but as you’ll see, I had a few opinions that might be unexpected.

Dear Fellow Investor,

My schedule has been breathtakingly busy over the past couple of months, and as a result I’ve been turning down almost every conference, interview or site visit offered.

But I had to make an exception when my friends at the MoneyShow group asked if I’d represent gold in an upcoming debate against noted Bitcoin advocate Bill Taylor of Digital Wealth News.

This, I told them, would be “too much fun” to resist.

I suggested my friend Robert Helms as the best possible MC for the debate and, as you’ll see, that suggestion hit the bulls-eye. Robert is simply the best in the business, and he kept things lively and on track.

As you’ll also see, I had two big problems to address, one of which was the entire premise of a debate of gold versus Bitcoin. I believe they are two entirely different assets, and the question isn’t so much one against the other.

And while the on-going collapse in the value of Bitcoin certainly made this debate easier than the others I’ve done over the years, it has also served to highlight the differences between the two.
