Double-Barreled Bet
On Discovery

Appropriately enough, one of the most compelling bets on gold discovery today is a Discovery Group company: Genesis Metals (GIS.V; GGISF.OTC).

Benefiting directly from the collective experience of some of the sector’s most successful players, Genesis has no less than two great opportunities to make a major new gold find along the storied Abitibi Greenstone Belt.

Dear Fellow Investor,

It never hurts to have two bites at the apple.

That’s definitely true in mining exploration, where having more than one great project in your portfolio can vastly improve your odds of success.

And that’s exactly what Genesis Metals (GIS.V; GGISF.OTC) offers investors.

Its two projects along the Abitibi Greenstone Belt give it two chances to make a big discovery in a region teeming with past and present world-class gold deposits.

As you’re about to discover, both its Chevrier and October Gold projects offer compelling opportunities for Genesis to score a company-making discovery.

Better still, Chevrier comes with a valuation backstop in the form of an existing, large-scale gold mineral resource (395,000 ounces indicated and 297,000 ounces inferred).

In short, Genesis Metals offers nothing less than a great opportunity for discovery to work its magic on the company’s share price, one led by a group with ample discovery success on their résumés.

A Discovery Group Company

Like its portfolio compatriot ValOre Metals, which was also featured recently in this missive, Genesis Metals is a Discovery Group company.

And like ValOre, that affiliation means Genesis has access to a host of industry veterans who have “been there, done that” when it comes to creating shareholder wealth through discovery.

The most recent example, Great Bear Resources, is also this group’s most spectacular.

Well on its way to drilling off a multi-multi-million-ounce gold deposit in Red Lake, Ontario, Great Bear has ridden discovery to gains exceeding 2,500%!

And this group is no one-hit wonder. Two of its other big winners include:

• Kaminak Gold’s Coffee project: This “Second Yukon Gold Rush” project went from discovery to multi-million-ounce deposit in a few short years. Goldcorp would eventually buy Kaminak for the princely sum of C$520 million in 2016.

• Northern Empire Resources’ Sterling project: Key Discovery Group players proved up enough value on this forgotten Nevada gold project to sell the company in 2018 for C$117 million, less than 18 months after acquiring the project.

Now, with drilling stepping out on Chevrier and work planned later this year for October Gold, Genesis has a real chance to be the Discovery Group’s next home run.

Three Paths To Potentially Add Gold Ounces

Like Northern Empire’s Sterling project, Chevrier, located near the Quebec mining town of Chibougamau, has an existing mineral resource to build on. Better yet, it has three obvious ways it can potentially add to that gold endowment.

First, it can increase the ounce count on the Chevrier Main target by outlining more high-grade shoots both within and below the current mineral resource estimates

Drilling last year resulted in many high-grade intersections that well exceeded the average grade of the mineral resource at Chevrier Main.

Second, drilling began in April to step out from Chevrier East and test around gold-bearing till samples collected in surface work over the last couple of years.

Success with this program has the potential to be a discovery in its own right, one that, if matched with a strong gold market, could provide significant leverage to rising prices.

Finally, the Chevrier South target hosts a known mineralized zone that represents another solid avenue to add to Chevrier’s overall gold resource down the line.

October Gold:
On Trend Between Two Recent Discoveries

To that significant exploration potential, Genesis adds its October Gold project, which sits to the west-southwest of Chevrier just on Ontario’s side of its border with Quebec.

October Gold lies within an emerging Abitibi gold camp that includes two of the more lucrative takeouts of the past several years — the Côté Lake and Borden Lake deposits.

Trelawney Mining & Exploration went from a penny stock in the late 2000s to one that sold to IAMGOLD in 2012 for C$505 million, based largely on the value proved up on the Côté Lake project (7.3 million ounces of proven and probable mineral reserves).

This massive gold project sits to October Gold’s east.

A similar story occurred on its west side, where Probe Mine turned its Borden Lake project into a four-million-ounce deposit and then sold out to Goldcorp (which has since merged with Newmont) in 2015 for C$526 million.

Historic work on October Gold suggests it lies along the same major structure as Côté Lake and exploration starting later this year adds a longer-term discovery chance to Genesis’ story.

Simply put, Genesis Metals offers investors nothing less than a compelling opportunity for discovery success, with drilling underway at Chevrier East and more work this year, including exploration to define drill targets, on October Gold.

Given these projects’ locations along the Abitibi, an area rich in both gold and mining infrastructure, sniffs of significantly more gold on either could light a fire under Genesis’ share price.

And given the track records of the team guiding Genesis Metals, this double-barreled wager on discovery looks like it could be a very smart bet indeed.
