The Smart Money Just Moved In

Pacific Ridge Exploration (PEX.V; PEXZF.OTC) controls two copper-gold porphyry projects in British Columbia, and just closed an $8.5 million financing where the biggest buyer wasn’t a retail crowd chasing a story.

It was Minsur S.A., one of Peru’s largest mining companies, which now owns roughly 13.8% of the company and has secured the right of first refusal on one of its two flagship projects.

With more than C$9 million in the treasury and drills about to turn on a resource the market has yet to properly value, the 2026 field season is shaping up to be the busiest in company history.

And the company is still trading at a discount to its peers.

Dear Fellow Investor,

When a major international mining company puts real capital behind a junior explorer, it pays to ask why.

Minsur S.A., one of Peru’s leading mining companies, just answered that question.

Through its subsidiary Cumbres del Sur S.A.C., Minsur emerged from Pacific Ridge’s recently closed $8.5 million financing as the company’s largest shareholder, holding approximately 13.8% on a basic basis.

It also secured a nine-month right of first refusal to acquire Pacific Ridge’s RDP copper-gold project in British Columbia, along with an agreement to negotiate in good faith toward a potential strategic transaction on that same asset.

Agreements like these don’t get attached to passing interest.

Peru’s Largest Miner Places Its Bet

Pacific Ridge closed the final tranche of its private placement on July 2, bringing gross proceeds to $8.5 million.

The financing combined hard dollar units, flow-through units and charity flow-through shares to fund an aggressive 2026 exploration season at both of the company’s B.C. copper-gold projects.

Minsur’s involvement put one of Peru’s most established mining companies atop Pacific Ridge’s shareholder register.

CEO Blaine Monaghan called the investment “a strong endorsement of our projects, our team, and our goal of becoming B.C.’s leading copper exploration company.”

Now — with more than C$9 million now sitting in the treasury, and Minsur’s support added to the backing of the respected Fiore Group — Pacific Ridge heads into the season backed by partners carrying real technical and financial weight in the mining world.

A Right Of First Refusal Worth Paying Attention To

As part of the deal, Pacific Ridge and Cumbres entered into an investor rights agreement as well as a right of first refusal agreement specific to the RDP copper-gold project.

For as long as Cumbres holds at least 5% of Pacific Ridge, it has participation rights to maintain its ownership stake, a top-up right following future dilutive financings and access to technical information on RDP.

And here’s the important part: It also holds a nine-month right of first refusal to acquire the project outright, and both parties have agreed to negotiate in good faith toward a potential strategic transaction.

José Vizquerra, Minsur’s Chief Strategy and Growth Officer, put it plainly: “This investment reflects Minsur’s conviction in the RDP copper-gold porphyry project and in the quality of British Columbia as a Tier-1 mining jurisdiction.”

A company doesn’t structure a deal like this around an asset it considers marginal.

The Resource That Backs
— And Powers —
The Valuation

None of this changes the fact that the Kliyul copper-gold project, 100% owned and covering more than 92 square kilometers in the Quesnel Terrane of British Columbia, remains the anchor of Pacific Ridge.

The Kliyul Main Zone alone hosts 334.1 million tonnes grading 0.33% copper-equivalent in the inferred category — representing 2.42 billion pounds of copper-equivalent or 5.7 million ounces of gold-equivalent.

And that’s before accounting for the multiple other porphyry targets identified along the same six-kilometer mineralized trend.

Kliyul’s 334.1-million-tonne resource represents 2.42 billion pounds of copper-equivalent or 5.7 million ounces of gold-equivalent, and sits alongside three fresh targets still waiting for a drill bit.

Sitting close to the Omineca resource road and a 230-kilovolt power line, Kliyul checks the infrastructure box that so many junior projects lack. And the resource remains open for expansion.

Still One Of B.C.’s Best Intercepts...

Forty kilometers to the west, at the southern end of the Toodoggone Mining District, RDP has delivered results that stand up against anything else drilled in the province recently.

RDP-25-011 returned 112.2 meters of 1.35% copper-equivalent, the best interval ever recorded at the project.

Three more 2025 holes at the Day target confirmed the mineralized system extends further than previously known, tagging 154.7 meters of 0.63% copper-equivalent, 148.0 meters of 0.37% copper-equivalent and 130.8 meters of 0.47% copper-equivalent.

Two confirmed mineralized lobes at RDP’s Day target bracket an interpreted porphyry center that has never been drilled.

That interpreted center, sitting between two confirmed lobes, is exactly where Pacific Ridge is pointing its 2026 program. It is also, not coincidentally, the asset Minsur just built a right of first refusal around.

Drilling Just Ahead...

Pacific Ridge is entering the field season on both fronts. At Kliyul, roughly 2,500 meters of drilling will test three new targets along the underexplored six-kilometer trend:

  • KCC, an extension candidate southeast of the main zone
  • Klip, a blind porphyry target defined by a large magnetic anomaly
  • M39, a kilometer-long copper-gold soil anomaly with its own skarn and alteration signature

At RDP, the company will run a high-resolution magnetic survey and additional induced polarization work ahead of roughly 2,500 meters of drilling, all aimed at the interpreted porphyry center between the Day target’s two lobes.

Porphyry systems rarely occur alone, and Pacific Ridge’s ground gives it a long list of places to look for the next one.

Momentum — Backed By Capital

So when a major Peruvian miner writes a seven-figure check, secures a right of first refusal on your growing asset and agrees to negotiate toward a strategic transaction, what does that tell you?

It tells you that people who evaluate mining projects for a living looked hard at Pacific Ridge and decided to bet on it.

However, the market has been slow to follow. Pacific Ridge trades at a market capitalization of only about $18 million. If that sounds undervalued, you’re correct — especially when peers holding comparable British Columbia porphyry resources command valuations four to five times higher.

Pacific Ridge’s resource and drill results stack up against its peers — but its market capitalization doesn’t, yet.

The company now has the capital, the backing and the drill targets to close that gap.

A substantial resource at Kliyul. A high-grade discovery still open at RDP. Drills about to turn.

...And, for the first time, a major international mining company with real skin in the game and a defined path toward doing even more.

It’s easy to see that the time to take a look at Pacific Ridge Exploration is now.
