The Drills Are Turning

The gold bull market has sparked investor interest in exploration drill programs, with good results in some cases doubling a company’s share price the day it releases news.

It’s an ideal investing climate for Contact Gold (C.V; CGOL.OTC), which recently began a new drill program on its Green Springs project in Nevada, land of elephant-sized gold deposits.

Dear Fellow Investor,

We’re in a different world right now.

That’s clear for anyone who ventures out into a world full of mask-wearing and social distancing.

It’s also clear to gold bugs, who have watched the yellow metal roar into the financial headlines, attracting a whole new class of investors to this tiny sector.

The proof is in the share price spikes we’ve seen in precious metals companies across the board, and in the strong investor response to good news — especially drill results.

Vizsla Resources, a recent Golden Opportunities recommendation, provides a great example: On July 8, 2020, Vizsla announced drill results that confirmed a recent high-grade discovery on its Panuco project. It’s share price essentially doubled that day.

Such is the nature of releasing good news into a market that’s paying attention.

And so the question becomes, what other drill programs out there are primed to deliver similar news?

Well, thanks to the drill program it just kicked off on its Green Springs project, Contact Gold (C.V; CGOL.OTC) looks like a drill-hole speculation tailor-made for a market looking for great results.

Nevada:
Land Of Gold Elephants

Green Springs is located in Nevada, one of the world’s premier gold mining destinations.

Better yet: The Green Springs project lies on the southern edge of the legendary Carlin and Cortez Trends…where millions of ounces of gold are produced annually, primarily from open-pit, heap-leach operations.

Thanks in large part to the Carlin Trend style of mineralization, Nevada has produced more than 224.0 million ounces of gold in its history.

Contact Gold’s projects are focused on Nevada’s fabled Carlin gold trend.

Much of that is “oxidized” gold that is widely disseminated and easily recovered via low-cost heap-leach methods. These traits have made majors like Newmont, Barrick and Kinross key players in the state.

Add in Nevada’s reputation as a mining friendly jurisdiction, and it’s hard to think of a better place to explore for gold.

And while most of the low-lying fruit (near-surface oxidized gold with grades of 1 g/t or better) has been mined, Contact Gold’s recent drilling at Green Springs indicates mineralization with imminently mineable grades may still lie near surface.

Prior Drilling Provides Proof Of Concept

Just as importantly, that recent work has shown that oxidized gold may also lie along a four-kilometer geological contact that runs below the 74,000 ounces of near-surface gold Green Springs has already generated.

As you can see from the map below, the Pilot Shale-Guilmette Limestone contact runs at depth below the Chainman Shale-Joanna Limestone contact that historically produced the project’s open-pittable gold.

Contact’s current drilling on the Pilot Shale target could open up a whole world of potential if successful.

The Pilot Shale contact comes to surface on the north side of the project at the Alpha target. Drilling on that target in late 2019 hit 1.3 g/t over 24.4 meters and 1.7 g/t over 27.4 meters, including 2.6 g/t over 19.8 meters.

Those assays helped provide the needed proof of concept that this layer may host additional oxidized gold at depth below the series of targets and past-producing zones south of Alpha.

Three Ways To Make Headlines

Indeed, the current drilling program, which just started at the beginning of September, has three opportunities to attract investor attention.

• Echo zone: Drilling on this target in 2019 yielded long, near-surface intersections on the Chainman contact with very mineable grades (e.g., 2.4 g/t over 70.1 meters from 80.8 meters and 3.5 g/t over 38.1 meters from 76.2 meters). The first drilling is designed to offset those intersections.

• Delta & Charlie zones: The drills will test below the historical drilling (to 200 meters) on these targets. Success hitting oxide gold mineralization along the Pilot Shale contact could open up a whole new chapter at Green Springs.

• Tango, Whiskey, Foxtrot & Zulu zones: Finally, the drills will probe these high-conviction, never-before-drilled targets outside the main mineralized trend on Green Springs. Compelling assays from any of them could also spark a run on Contact Gold. Of these targets, Zulu will be the first to be drilled after drilling finishes at the Echo Zone.

Drilling on high-priority Nevada gold targets is underway now — with results coming soon.

Given Green Springs’ proximity to other high-grade deposits in the area and its location in infrastructure-rich Nevada, good results on any of these three fronts could light a fire under Contact’s share price.

Timing Is Everything

As you can tell from Vizsla Resources’ recent experience, you want to be positioned in Contact Gold before the first assays from this program hit the news wires.

Longer-term, the company’s value is further supported by Pony Creek, a separate Carlin Trend project that could make news in its own right later this year.

But it’s the potential of this current drilling effort that drives the urgency to get in now.

If you want a chance to participate in the rapid gains that can attend drilling success in a gold bull market, you’ll want to own Contact Gold at or near current levels.
