Few gold-silver districts carry the pedigree of Argentina’s Deseado Massif.

Since 1990, the district has produced more than 20 million ounces of gold and 600 million ounces of silver — output that put Newmont’s Cerro Negro and Hochschild’s San José on the map.

Daura Gold Corp. (DGC.V; DGCOF.OTC) holds an option on two high-potential projects sitting right in the middle of it.

A Large Epithermal System, Already Confirmed

Daura’s first-ever drill program on its Cerro Bayo project — 18 holes across 1,850 meters — returned assays confirming a large, high-grade epithermal system.

Hole 5 returned 1.80 meters at 739.53 g/t silver and 0.33 g/t gold.
 

Hole 12 hit 1.95 meters at 8.83 g/t gold and 18.86 g/t silver.

Both sat within broader zones of near-surface silver — 43.1 meters at 44.3 g/t silver in one hole, 34.1 meters at 23.2 g/t silver in another. Management describes the underlying hydrothermal field as spanning more than 400 square kilometers of the Deseado Massif — and that first pass tested only a fraction of it.

A Second Bonanza-Grade Target

Weeks later, Daura was back with news from La Flora, a second high-grade target 16 kilometers away.
 

Surface sampling returned visible gold grading 63.88 g/t gold and 175.34 g/t silver, part of a 100-meter-wide vein array within a system that outcrops for more than a kilometer.

The Catalyst Just Got Funded

Drill permits for La Flora are in. And this month, Daura announced a private placement of up to C$2 million, with proceeds earmarked for the Argentina drill campaign and continued work on its Peruvian ground.
 

That means Phase Two — testing both Cerro Bayo and La Flora in the same campaign — is no longer a someday catalyst. It’s funded…it’s scheduled…and it starts in October.

Argentina isn’t where Daura’s story ends.
